My whole career has been devoted to the investigation and promulgation of the truth about the real world: science, the poetry of reality. After the successful publication of The God Delusion, I decided to devote time and resources to a charitable foundation, operating in both the United Kingdom and the United States, the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science (RDFRS). Some ten years later, RDFRS in the United States merged with the Center for Inquiry (CFI), the country’s largest and most influential freethought and sceptical charity. Our aims and methods exactly coincide, and the merger energized both organizations.

I previously regarded religious fundamentalism as the chief enemy of scientific truth. It hasn’t gone away, and it remains our principal target. In recent times, however, it has been joined by the pernicious doctrine that truth is what you feel it to be, rather than what the scientific evidence shows. The Richard Dawkins Foundation stands for objective science and reason as the only way of knowing what is true about the real world. If you disagree, there are plenty of other charities you can donate to!

Among our specific projects are these:

· “TIES”: Teaching elementary, middle, and high school teachers how to teach evolution in the face of religiously inspired opposition.

· Secular Rescue: Defending apostates whose lives are threatened.

· The Translations Project: Translating books on science and secularism into Arabic, Urdu, Farsi and Indonesian for free download.
